Day 1: Monday, June 4
Departure from U.S.A. (D on Flight)
Today, depart on your overnight transatlantic flight to Stockholm, Sweden


Day 2 - Tuesday, June 5
Arlanda Airport - Uppsala- Stockholm (B,D)
Arrive Stockholm Arlanda Airport. Travel by coach to Uppsala to tour the inspiring 751-year old Uppsala Cathedral, Sweden’s largest cathedral. Visit beautiful Linneaus Gardens the oldest botanical garden in Sweden. Enjoy free time in Uppsala for lunch, shopping or exploring. Continue to Stockholm to visit “Sweden in a Nutshell” at Skansen the world’s oldest open-air museum. Dinner and overnight in Stockholm.


Day 3 - Wednesday, June 6
Stockholm  (B,D)
A tour of the delightful city of Stockholm includes the Wasa Ship Museum, City Hall, Embassy Row, Gamla Stan (Old Town) and more. Enjoy a free afternoon to explore or relax. Dinner this evening in one of Stockholm’s famous restaurants. Overnight in Stockholm.

Day 4 -Thursday, June 7
Stockholm- Linköping- Bergs Slussar- Gränna- Jönköping  (B,D)
Travel to the city of Linköping to tour the open-air museum of Gamla Linköping. Visit the locks at Bergs Slussar on the famous Göta Canal before traveling to “Rökstenen”, one of Sweden’s best-preserved Viking Age rune stones. At Gränna visit Gränna Polkagris (peppermint candy) factory and candy store then experience a delightful glassblowing demonstration by master glassblowers at Gränna Glashytta (Glassworks). Continue to Jönköping on the southern tip of Lake Vättern for dinner and overnight.

Day 5 - Friday, June 8
Jönköping- Eksjö- “Crystal Kingdom”- Kalmar- Karlskrona (B,D)
Today travel to Eksjö for a delightful walking tour of the Old Town with its well-preserved wooden buildings from the 16th & 17th Centuries. Deep in the forests of Småland, in the “Crystal Kingdom”, tour the 270-year old crystal factory of Kosta-Boda and enjoy shopping in the factory outlet store. Continue to the east coast city of Kalmar to tour 800 year-old Kalmar Castle. Once a vital defense on the old Danish border, the original defense tower was built in the 12th century to protect against pirates and other seafaring enemies. Travel along the coast to the area near Karlskrona for dinner and overnight.

Day 6 - Saturday, June 9
Karlskrona- Karlshamn- Kåseberga- Höllviken- Landskrona (B,D)
Drive to the coastal city of Karlshamn to see the “Emigrant Monument” honoring those who left Sweden for America in the Nineteenth Century. Travel to Kåseberga to see the mysterious stone ship at Ales Stenar, thought to have been erected as far back as 500 B.C. Experience the exciting re-creation of Viking life at the Foteviken Viking Village near Höllviken. Continue to Landskrona on Sweden’s west coast for dinner and overnight.   

 

Day 7 - Sunday, June 10
Landskrona- Helsingborg- Helsingør- Roskilde- Copenhagen  (B,D)
This morning drive to Helsingborg to take the ferry across the Öresund to Helsingør, Denmark. On the way enjoy a wonderful view of Hamlet’s Kronborg Castle. Upon arrival in Denmark, drive to Roskilde to visit the impressive Viking Ship Museum. Continue to Copenhagen to enjoy a tour of the capital city of Denmark, which includes: The Little Mermaid Statue, Amalienborg Palace and more.  Dinner at the world-famous Tivoli Gardens. Overnight in Copenhagen.

Day 8 - Monday, June 11
Copenhagen- Departure to Oslo (B,D)
Free time this morning for exploring or shopping. Board the DFDS Scandinavian Seaways cruise ship in late afternoon for the overnight cruise to Oslo. Dinner and overnight on board.

 

Day 9 - Tuesday, June 12
Oslo (B,D)
Upon arrival in Oslo, Norway, enjoy a tour of the city including Vigeland Park, Thor Heyerdahl’s Kon-Tiki Museum, the Viking Ship Museum and more. After hotel check-in spend the afternoon at your leisure. Of interest on your own: Akershus Castle, World War II Resistance Museum, the Norwegian Folk Museum or stroll along Oslo’s walking street to the Royal Palace. Dinner and overnight in Oslo.

Day 10 -Wednesday, June 13
Oslo- Myrdal- Flåm- Fjord Cruise- Stalheim (B,D)  
This morning enjoy the splendid mountain and fjord scenery as you depart Oslo by rail. At Myrdal board the Flåm mountain train traveling down 2,900 feet in 12 short miles to the village of Flåm. Continue your journey with a breathtaking cruise on the beautiful Aurlandsfjord and the Nærøyfjord to Gudvangen. Rejoin your bus and travel up the Stalheim Canyon to the famous Stalheim Hotel for dinner and overnight.

 

 

Day 11 - Thursday, June 14

Stalheim - Voss - Bergen (B, D)

This morning travel to the charming west coast city of Bergen passing through the town of Voss, birthplace of legendary college football coach Knute Rockne. Upon arrival in Bergen enjoy a guided tour of the “Gateway to the Fjords” including the Hanseatic Quarter, the Fish Market, and the home of composer Edward Grieg. Free time this afternoon. Enjoy shopping or ride the Funicular (Cable Car) up the mountain to enjoy the panoramic view of the city. Dinner and overnight in Bergen.

 

 

 

Day 12 - Friday, June 15
Bergen- Departure to USA (B) 
This morning transfer by bus to Flesland Airport for your flight to the USA via Copenhagen.
