Day 2 - Tuesday, June 10
Arlanda Airport - Uppsala - Stockholm (B,
D)
Arrive Stockholm Arlanda Airport. Travel by coach to Uppsala to visit beautiful Linneaus Gardens and tour the inspiring Uppsala Cathedral. Free time in Uppsala for lunch, shopping or exploring. Continue to Stockholm to visit “Sweden in a Nutshell” at Skansen the world’s oldest open air museum. Dinner and overnight at the Clarion Collection Hotel Tapto or similar.
Day 3 - Wednesday, June 11
Stockholm (B, D)
A tour of the delightful city of Stockholm includes the Wasa Ship Museum, City Hall, Embassy Row, Gamla Stan (Old Town) and more. Enjoy a free afternoon to explore or relax. Dinner this evening in one of Stockholm’s famous restaurants. Overnight at the Clarion Collection Hotel Tapto or similar.
Day 4 -Thursday, June 12
Stockholm - Linköping - Bergs Slussar - Gränna

In Linköping tour the open air museum of Gamla Linköping. Visit the locks at Bergs Slussar on the famous Göta Canal before traveling to “Rökstenen”, one of Sweden’s best preserved Viking Age rune stones. At Gränna visit Gränna Polkagris (peppermint candy) factory and candy store then experience a delightful glassblowing demonstration by master glassblowers at Gränna Glashytta (Glassworks). Dinner and overnight in Jönköping on the southern tip of Lake Vättern at the Hotel John Bauer or similar.
Day 5 - Friday, June 13
Jönköping - Eksjö - “Crystal
Kingdom” - Kalmar - Söderåkra (B, D)
Today travel to Eksjö for a walking tour of the Old Town with its well-preserved wooden buildings from the 16th & 17th Centuries. Deep in the forests of Småland, in the “Crystal Kingdom”, visit the 266-year old crystal factory of Kosta-Boda. Get a close up view of live moose at Grönäsens moose park. Continue to the east coast city of Kalmar to tour 800 year-old Kalmar Castle, once a vital defense on the old Danish border. Near the coastal town of Söderåkra enjoy dinner and overnight at the country Inn of Stufvenäs Gästgifveri.
Day 6 - Saturday, June 14
Söderåkra - Karlshamn - Kåseberga - Höllviken
- Malmö - Copenhagen (B, D)
In Karlshamn, visit the “Emigrant’ Monument”, which honors those who left Sweden for America in the Nineteenth Century. Travel to Kåseberga to see the stone ship at Ales Stenar, thought to have been erected as far back as 500 B.C. Experience the re-creation of Viking life at the Foteviken Viking Village near Höllviken. Cross the Öresunds Bridge at Malmö to “Wonderful Copenhagen”. Dinner and overnight in Copenhagen at Hotel Scandic Sydhavnen or similar.
Day 7 - Sunday, June 15
Copenhagen - Roskilde - Copenhagen (B, D)
This morning drive to Roskilde to visit the impressive Viking Ship Museum. Return to Copenhagen to enjoy a tour of the capital city of Denmark, which includes: The Little Mermaid Statue, Amalienborg Palace and more. Dinner at the world-famous Tivoli Gardens. Overnight in Copenhagen at Hotel Scandic Sydhavnen or similar.
Day 8 - Monday, June 16
Copenhagen - Departure to Oslo (B, D)
Free time this morning for exploring or shopping. Board the DFDS Scandinavian Seaways cruise ship in late afternoon for the overnight cruise to Oslo. Dinner and overnight on board.
Day 9 - Tuesday, June 17
Oslo (B, D)
Arrival in Oslo, Norway. Enjoy a tour of the city including Vigeland Park, Thor Heyerdahl’s Kon-Tiki Museum, the Viking Ship Museum and more. After hotel check-in spend the afternoon at your leisure. Of interest on your own: Akershus Castle, World War II Resistance Museum, the Norwegian Folk Museum or stroll along Oslo’s walking street to the Royal Palace. Dinner and overnight at Thon Hotel Europa or similar.
Day 10 -Wednesday, June 18
Oslo - Myrdal - Flåm - Fjord Cruise - Stalheim (B,
D)
This morning enjoy the mountain and fjord scenery as you depart Oslo by rail. At Myrdal board the Flåm mountain train which travels down 2,900 feet in 12 short miles to Flåm. Board the fjord boat for a breathtaking cruise on the beautiful Aurlandsfjord and the Nærøyfjord. At Gudvangen, continue by bus up the Stalheim Canyon to the Stalheim Hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 11 - Thursday, June 19
Stalheim - Voss - Bergen (B, D)
This morning travel to the west coast city of Bergen passing through the town of Voss, birthplace of Knute Rockne. Enjoy a guided tour of the charming city of Bergen “Gateway to the Fjords” including the Hanseatic Quarter, the Fish Market, and the home of composer Edward Grieg. Free time this afternoon. Enjoy shopping or ride the Funicular (Cable Car) up the mountain to enjoy the panoramic view of the city. Farewell dinner and entertainment this evening at the Fana Folklore Show. Overnight again at the Grand Hotel Terminus or similar.
Day 12 - Friday, June 20
Bergen - Departure to USA (B)
After breakfast, transfer by bus to Flesland Airport for the flight to Chicago via Copenhagen. Arrive in Chicago at 5:30 P.M. local time. Some connections to certain cities will not be possible and an overnight stay (on your own) in Chicago is a possibility.
